YoHoHo.io casts you as a scruffy pirate dropped onto a tropical island with nothing but a cutlass. Dozens of other marooned players share the beach, and only one of you walks away. The arena shrinks with the tide and the palm trees; every encounter is a short, sharp sword duel where footwork and timing beat brute force.

How to play

Move across the island looking for food (to grow your pirate) and other players (to eliminate). Hit the attack button when close to a rival; correct timing wins the exchange. Run when outmatched — the map is small, but plenty of cover exists behind huts and rocks.

Combat

Sword swings have a short recovery. Attacking into an opponent's swing usually loses; baiting theirs and counter-hitting wins. Bigger pirates hit harder but turn slower — small, nimble characters can win by circling.

Tips

• Eat food before engaging — a bigger pirate takes less damage
• Always face your opponent; back-hits are fatal
• Don't chase into the storm zone; it whittles your health
• Late game is usually on the beach — keep an escape path to water
