An HTML5 multiplayer RTS

Discord YouTube

Strike Tactics is a completely free, fast-paced steamroller RTS that plays directly in your browser. It's a full-featured multiplayer sci-fi RTS with a classic formula: harvest resources, build production, research technology, field armies, and conquer your opponents. A huge unit roster spans over 20 military units, each with unique weaponry and capabilities — hover tanks, bombers, mechs, enormous flying battleships, and super weapons that shoot halfway across the map. Built entirely in HTML5 and JavaScript, no downloads or plugins required.

How to play

Start with a base and worker units. Send workers to harvest resources. Construct production buildings, train units, research upgrades. Attack opponents and defend your own base. The standard game mode is a full RTS experience with base-building, production queuing, technology trees, and a complex economy system that's easy to learn but difficult to master.

Game modes

  • 1v1, team, and free-for-all multiplayer — dedicated servers (not P2P), ELO-based ranking, global ladder
  • Single player vs AI — easy, medium, hard, and a cheating AI for maximum challenge
  • Survival mode — endless waves of enemies, available in multiplayer cooperative
  • Match history — review past games and refine strategy

Technical

Built for performance — designed to run smoothly on non-gaming, low-end PCs, but utilizes your GPU if available. This isn't your typical Flash-era web game. Plays on Mac, PC, and Linux. Control groups, an observer mode with zoom, and fully custom hotkeys make it feel like a traditional desktop RTS. The soundtrack is hard-hitting and industrial — 15 original scores composed by On Being Human, available in full on Spotify.

Tips

  • Economy first — don't build military before your worker count scales
  • Scout your opponent; blind builds lose to counter-picks
  • Micro your units in battles — a-move dies to clicks from a focused opponent
  • Save minerals for the army that counters theirs, not a generic mix
  • Practice vs the cheating AI to pressure-test economy timing
