Castle Wars is a free multiplayer strategy card game where you build your castle, crush your enemies, and claim a kingdom. Forge your legacy. Defend your kingdom. Conquer the world. Playable on any device in your browser, with a full TUI alternative accessible over SSH for terminal-minded players. Challenge friends head-to-head or face off against the AI in epic castle battles.

How to play

Draw a hand each turn. Play cards that produce builders (wall HP), soldiers (attack power), or mages (spells). Win by reducing your opponent's castle HP to zero, or by growing yours to the target HP. The balance between resource generation and offense is critical — aggressive dump-everything rushes lose to slightly more careful defenders.

Terminal play

Castle Wars is now fully playable in your terminal over SSH. Set up your key in settings, then connect with: ssh playerCwl.proclive.io -p 56646. The TUI includes full card art, deck builder, chat, achievements, and more — built for the Linux and vim/neovim crowd who live in the terminal.

Coins and customization

Coins unlock a layer of customization beyond gameplay: - Buy cards — spend coins to collect extra copies for your personal deck - Castle skins — change the look of your castle with unique skins - Decorations — add weapons, dragons, and gems to your castle - Wall skins — change the appearance of your castle walls - More features being actively developed; have suggestions? Share them in the in-game chat or Discord

Community and Steam

Time-limited community events are live — win games during an active event to contribute to milestones and unlock cards for all participating players. The Steam page is up and currently collecting wishlists before launch. Every wishlist helps the game reach Steam's recommendation algorithm.

Tips

Wall up on turn 1 — you need HP to survive early attacks
Builders compound; get them out before soldiers
Mages are swingy but tempo-breaking; use them on key turns, not for chip damage
Against AI, play optimally; against players, read tempo and bluff on bad hands
