Slither.io

Slither.io is the legendary multiplayer snake game that kicked off the entire worm-IO genre. Simple mechanics, brutal competition, millions of players. If you haven't played it yet, you're missing IO history.

How to Play

Move your mouse to steer your snake around the arena. Eat the glowing dots scattered around to grow longer. The longer you are, the higher your score and the higher you climb on the leaderboard.

Controls

• Mouse — steer the snake
• Left click / Space — speed boost (costs length)

Key Mechanics

• Collision — run into another snake's body and you die. Even the biggest snake can be killed by the smallest if they crash into it.
• Boost — speed up to dodge or chase, at the cost of your length
• Food drops — when a snake dies, it leaves glowing food where its body was

Tactics

• Cut off — boost in front of an opponent to force them into your body
• Encircle — use your length to form a circle around enemies, then close it
• Shadow hunting — follow big snakes waiting for them to die, then feast on their remains
• Baiting — pretend to be distracted, let opponents overcommit, then snap back

Tips

• Don't chase food greedily — opponents are watching
• Never boost when a big snake is near your head
• Eat other players' drops for faster growth than regular food
• The outer ring is safer but has less food
• When encircled, sprint for the boundary and hope
